About This Blog

I started this blog YEARS ago, maybe even a decade ago, because I am constantly musing about things and love to share, but I'm also an introvert. I most definitely prefer to ponder things over, write them down then come back and edit.  Life took over and I lost touch with this blog only to rediscover it about a month ago. What a gift!! To be able to look back and see where I was, see where God has taken me and rediscover a love He has given me....LOVE IT.  Today I discovered all the new fonts that can be added so EASILY to blogger (long story short on how I figured that out. lol)  I decided to start with this font, "Give You Glory", because that's what this blog is about.  No ads here, not trying to become famous or make money.  Just hoping to glorify the Lord.
I have discovered that a lot of things haven't changed.  I actually LOVE what's on this About page. (Imagine that! ;) A lot will stay; When you see fun fonts, that's updated 2020 stuff.  Here we go!

I am truly a musing helpmeet. I am first a helpmeet to my husband. My desire is for my life/choices to show my husband how much I love and respect him. This is why my blog has been sporadic at best...family comes first. I am also a muser. I love to think about things and come up with new ideas.

Most of my musings right now have to do with two things.  The first is being EFFICIENT.    According to the dictionary, efficient has two meanings:
1. well organized - performing tasks in an organized and capable way.
2. able to function without waste - capable of achieving the desired result with the minimum use of resources, time and effort.
Mmmm, I love this! Being organized, capable and wasting nothing. This does not mean sacrificing my desire to be healthy, it means finding ways to do it efficiently. The more efficient I can be the more time I will have for my husband and children.

Wow, that sounds amazing.  Update: I now have two teenagers. One who should be at college, but COVID!, and a 16 year old boy who has no desire to eat healthy. Challenge now?  How do I get them both back on track with healthy eating? It has to be basic and easy. You have no idea how many diets I've tried (about every one out there!) trying to get my gut healthy and consistent. 😲 Not there yet.
One thing I think helps with being efficient is simplifying. Have less to take care of just naturally flows into being more efficient, don't you think? Easier said than done, however with 3 other people in the house. 😁

The second thing I was musing about was how to make extra money for my family.  I was a substitute teacher and tried to make a go of selling my crafty creations.  Not easy.  I ended up going to work part time and now full time. Love the steady paycheck and I made sure everyone knew my kids came first, so it's not difficult to get time off when needed.

My goal is to get things done during the week, and not have a personal agenda for the weekend. This way I can be available to have fun with my family, and help my husband. Again, not easy. My goal now is to have a legitimate Sabbath.  All chores finished by sunset Saturday evening.  Just started this and must say it is amazing sitting on the front porch with my hubby enjoying a glass of wine knowing there is nothing on the agenda the next day. Two weeks in a row and counting. 💗

My brain is going nutty with all the ideas of what to post now, but we'll see where God leads. Until then, I will continue to Give You Glory! (See what I did there? 😂)

Note: In the past I was learning how to implement the "nourishing" way of cooking using sprouted ingredients and such.  For more info check out The Nourishing Gourmet.  She has so much information under her Nourishing Foundations tab.  That has fallen by the wayside as of late, but some of my recipes fall under that category.
