Baby Steps

Updated (in italics) July 17, 2014.
Baby Steps...This phrase has caught my attention lately.  I tend to see the big picture and possibilities, and don't narrow it down to baby steps so not much happens.  I am now trying to think of things in terms of Baby Steps.
My Baby Steps will be different than yours...only you know your family and what they need.  But in case you are so overwhelmed you just can't think straight, here are some of my current Baby Steps.

First and Foremost:
Time alone with God, and daily time in the word.
Check out the Daily Audio Bible.  We haven't been going to church, but I am spending daily time in the Word via the DAB.  I love it.  I am closer to God and growing more now than, I think, ever.  There is a fabulous Daily Audio Bible app for ipods, pads and smartphones.  You can listen to the bible and read along, all in your app.  Listen to a full podcast, and you'll see how it's like a church body, just without a building.
I also highly recommend the book Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge and the daily prayer at the end of the book.  We have to fight for life in this world, and we need to be "prayed up"!

In the Kitchen:
1. Make fresh chicken broth in my crock pot every Sunday. I ended up plenty of chicken broth stored in my freezer, and now do broth whenever needed.
    See how here.

2. Find a new soup recipe every week until I have enough variety.  Discovered that my family just isn't a soup kind of family.
    Some of my favorite sites:

3. Veggies for breakfast! Still working on this one.  But I do always have a veggie tray in the fridge.
    See post here.

4. July 17, 2014  KEEP THE TABLE CLEAN!  See post here .

Kids:

1. Get your clothes into the clothes hamper!  You have a super fun clothes hamper in your room, use it!  :) This has been happening!  Yeah!
2. Get your dishes into the dishwasher and out of the living room!
3. Make a habit of looking at the iAllowance app. We have revamped the iAllowance app this summer.  Now we are working at keeping track of everything they do!
